Create Your Own iPhone Apps And Make Money Online

How does one create an iPhone web application and can one really make a lot of money selling iPhone apps online?

First of all, anyone can EASILY create an iPhone app and make money online. However to be realistic, not everyone will become the next Ethan Nicholas - who created his first iPhone apps and went on to make more than $800,000 profit in his first 5 months.

"But what if I do not have any experience or know nuts about creating web applications?"

Frankly, to create an iPhone web application, you do not need to be a computer geek or genius. In fact, anyone with a little knowledge about using the computer or internet can easily create an iPhone application and start to make money. The process is quite easy and relatively straight forward.

First, get an idea for an Apple iPhone apps. Visit the Apple website and check the Appstore to take a look at what types of applications are popular or could benefit iPhone users. If you have friends who are iPhone owners, ask them what applications they would like to have. This research process will help you brainstorm some ideas to get you going.

Once you know what you would want for your first iPhone application to be, go to www.Elance.com and find an iPhone SDK specialist to develop the application for you. All you need to do is register with Elance, and start posting your iPhone apps project (what you want developed). In some cases, you will be able to get your mobile applications developed for $300 or even less. Before you know it, you will have created your very own iPhone web apps making you money online on the Appstore.

Read how Steve Demeter developed the vastly popular $5 iPhone game Trism and made him $250,000 in profit in just two month with a little bit of help from a friend and a contracted designer (whom he paid $500). Full story here...

3 Cool Reasons Why You Should Create an iPhone Apps Today

  1. Well Compensated (Apple takes 30% and you get to keep 70% of everything you sell in the iPhone AppStore.)
  2. Enormous Opportunities (The iPhone has sold well over 42 million units and is forecasted to sell 100 million units by the end of 2011. This enormous growth provides a fertile ground for small developers to create a fortune with little or no startup capital.)
  3. Job Flexibility (Once your iPhone apps start to make money, you have the freedom to work as much or as little as you want, and you have no set hours to be in an office and no boss to report to - just like Ethan Nicholas, Steve Demeter and Joel Comm.)

How Much Should You Charge Your iPhone Apps For You To Make Money?

In order to successfully make money from selling iPhone applications, here are some things to keep in mind when deciding what to charge for your iPhone apps.

  • From a developer's standpoint, it's important to take into consideration factors such as how much money and time it took to write your iPhone apps while determining the price of your app.
  • Most successful and popular iPhone apps cost anywhere between $0.99 to $9.99 so if you are planning to charge more, you'd better make sure you have a damn good application.
  • What is the demand for the type of app you're selling? Are there already similar apps in the Appstore? Then what are other independent developers pricing a similar app?
  • How useful is your apps going to be? If it's going to help the user go through their day a little easier or help a business save time and money, you can charge more.

iPhone Stories (Developing Apps for iPhone)

How To Create A Successful iPhone Apps That Will Make You Money?

How did New York Times best-selling author Joel Comm make almost $100,000 in just a few weeks?

He created iFart - an app that generates flatulent sounds at the touch of the screen, on a timer, or during certain movements of the phone. His app is entertaining, fast, and small in size.

It was that simple, fast, and efficient idea that skyrocketed him to the top of the iPhone app success list.

Some might argue the iFart isn't practical, but the fact that it entertains and keeps people buying it makes it a solid app idea. In creating an iPhone app, make sure your idea is accessible and reusable. It doesn't have to be a novelty - like iFart - it just needs to retain people's attention. If it does this, word will spread and you will make money with your iPhone apps.

To create a successful iPhone app, develop an app that is focused, practical, and small in size. The smaller the app file, the faster it will run and the more enticing it is to potential buyers. If the app is too big, buyers might not have room for it on their iPhone, causing fewer people to buy it, and you might not make as much money with your iPhone app. Also, the smaller programs are more enticing to AppStore perusers because of quicker download speed and generally cheaper prices.

Keep it small, keep it simple, and create an app that people will use over and over again.

Great hub! I always thought it would be extremely difficult to make an iPhone app, but this sounds easy. I guess the programming work isn't that difficult.

What software are they using? Can i use Adobe Flash? And I don't have a Mac. Can I use Windows

Dilaila Spencer 4 months ago

For those who do not have a Mac but are willing to try themselves in building the iPhone apps, one of opportunity is to use a web base app building tool. I personally use www.seattleclouds.com, as it is pretty easy to use. So, the cost can be considerably reduced by creating the app online, than on a Mac purchased particularly for this purpose. You just need to make some market researches and think about one-of-a-kind app that you would like to create and get it successfully posted to AppStore.

Cheers!

Great hub, I am glad that I'm following you. Your hub came up on Ask.com; after asking about how to make money on apps. ( just let ya know :)

Absolutely. Let me tell you this and I don't mean to discourage you in your euphoria, for it's not hard to develop an iPhone apps but a super hard task. First you need to know very very well Objective-C, and not C or C++ language that has nothing to do with it, after that get a taste of Cocoa language, and finally you have to deal with Xcode which obviously it's not a walk in the sun. I would say, for a really intelligent person, who has no experience in programming, and think to start off this one, it might take around 3 years to get a good grasp on it, but remember that I'm not talking about the average guy, but a smart college graduate with a taste for math, geometry, and general use of a computer, who is willing to spend at least 8 hours everyday to learn that. As you can see it can't happen overnight...nevertheless best luck to you and I hope that I didn't turn you off, remember nothing is impossible.
